A posted worker is a person that works for a Finnish employer and that the employer has sent abroad from Finland. Generally, a person can be a posted worker for two years and up to five years with special permission.
Posted workers belong to the Finnish social security system and the employment pension contributions from their wages are withheld in Finland.
Work done abroad in any country as a posted worker will be acknowledged in the employment requirement as if the work had been done in Finland.
In order to acknowledge the work, you must have kept your membership with the Fund active for the duration of your employment.
The unemployment insurance of a spouse that moves abroad with the posted worker
Please note that if a spouse moves abroad along with the posted worker, the spouse does not have an acceptable reason to be absent from the labor market based solely on the move. Acceptable reasons to be absent from the labor market include incapacity for work, full-time studies, grant-funded research and caring for a child under 3 years old.
If you are absent from the labor market without an acceptable reason for more than 6 months, then you must accumulate the employment requirement again in its entirety before you can receive daily allowance after your absence.
